DEIR EZZOR, Mar. 16 (MNA) – Syrian army units carried out intensive operations during the past 24 hours targeting ISIL terrorists’ fortifications and hideouts around al-Taim field from the directions of al-Tharda Mountain, the Panorama and the Driving School, located to the south of Deir-Ezzor city.

A source on the ground told that scores of terrorists were killed during the operations, in addition to destroying two vehicles equipped with 23 mm machineguns and a stolen oil tanker on al-Taim field road from the side of al-Shoula village.

The source added that terrorists near the field and the Technical Institute for Oil were hemmed in.

An army unit also targeted a gathering of ISIL terrorists near al-Jazeera University in al-Bogheiliyeh area in the western countryside of the province, destroying a car transporting terrorists.

A pickup with a machinegun mounted on it was destroyed along with a mortar launcher and five ISIL terrorists were killed in Hweijet Sakar in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, according to the source.

During the past two days, army units engaged in fierce clashes with ISIS terrorist groups that launched attacks in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor Airport and in al-Sinaa neighborhood and al-Maqaber Mountain, killing many of their members, including al-Haj Abdullah, Mohammad al-Fadel and Jihad al-Sajer, while the other terrorists fled.

Another pickup equipped with a 23 mm cannon belonging to ISIL terrorists was destroyed in al-Hweiqeh neighborhood in Deir Ezzor with a guided missile fired by an army unit.
