The second round of Perfect 2016 World Team Table Tennis Championships started on Monday in Kuala Lumpur with the Iranian squad getting the better of the Netherlands 3-nil.
Having previously defeated Thai rivals on Sunday, Noshad and Nima Alamian as well as Afshin Nouruzi played breezed past the Netherlands to set up a date with Canada later on Monday.
Meanwhile, Iran’s female squad was called triumphant in their third encounter due to the absence of Ethiopian rivals earning three points.
The women’s outfit had previously prevailed over Pakistan and Sri Lanka 3-nil and will play against Philippines in their forth group-stage encounter.
In total, 87 Men's and 78 Women's teams representing 94 countries are in the 2016 World Team Table Tennis Championships, participating in 4 different divisions.
