TEHRAN, May 28 (MNA) – Tofy Mussivand, an Iranian professor from the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, has succeeded in making an implanted device known as HeartSaver, the director of the 7th General Congress on New Cardiovascular Findings said here Saturday.

“Due to the high cost of heart surgeries and lack of donors, the need for artificial hearts has been palpable over the recent years,” Dr. Mohammad Reza Mohammad Hosseini stated.

The device is transplanted inside the body and therefore does not hold the problems in similar devices currently under development in the Unites States, he stated.

New methods for treating vascular diseases, cardiovascular disorders, heart surgeries, stem cells transplants, and congenital heart diseases, are among some of the main topics, which are discussed in the congress, Mohammad Hosseini said.

Razi Conference Center, Tehran, will host the 7th congress from June 17-20.
