Mehdi Karbasian in a meeting with a Japanese delegation on Tuesday in Tehran said a delegation comprising some major Japanese enterprises have expressed their readiness to finance and participate in Iran’s various mining projects.
“Employing modern technology that would lead to less energy consumption is one of the planned principles of Iran's mining industries that will be seriously pursued by Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO),” he said.
“For the implementation of the projects, separate and face-to-face meetings should be organized so that desired objectives for cooperation could be realized. Meanwhile, cooperating on projects related to infrastructure such as construction of specific ports for energy-intensive industries is another way the two sides can participate,” he added.
In the meeting, the representative from Japan’s Ministry of Energy, Industry, Mine and Trade said the agreements of the companies participating in Iran’s project are supported by Japan’s government and necessary funding and modern technologies will be provided.
Noting that the implementation of the nuclear deal has changed the situation, he expressed readiness for expanding cooperation with Iran on banking, modern technology, machinery, research and development, as well as water and environment.
