‘Those who advocate disintegrating Iraq are unaware of the harmful consequences of it for peace and security of the entire region,’ said Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on Wednesday afternoon, in a meeting with the secretary of Iraq's Islamic Virtue Party, Hashim al-Hashimi who is visiting Tehran.
The senior Iranian diplomat underlined the significance of Iraq for both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the entire region and reassured that Iran meticulously monitors all the developments in Iraq.
We hold that the intelligent and patient Iraqi nation will defeat terrorists, being united in following the guidance provided by their religious and political leaders, and put their country on the track of development and flourish, highlighted Iran’s Amir-Abdollahian.
Hashim al-Hashimi, for his part, offered greetings over the 37th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in February 1979 and described the Islamic Republic of Iran as an honor for the whole Islamic world.
‘The Iranian nation has found the path to development and progress and is playing constructively in the region which has made them a role model for other countries who seek growth and prosperity,’ reiterated the Iraqi politician.
Referring to the challenge of Takfiri terrorism for Iraqis, al-Hashimi affirmed that in the light of national unity and solidarity, Iraqis seek progress and development of their country and foil all the plots conspired against their country.
