TEHRAN, Jan. 23 (MNA) – China’s President underlined seeking expansion and development of bilateral ties with Iran to open a new season of comprehensive and long-term cooperation.

Upon his arrival on Friday night at Mehrabad International Airport, Chinese president pointed out “Iran and China as two civilized countries, possessing outstanding culture and long history, have done a lot to develop humanities’ civilizations."

He added “both nations have established great communication and trade through Silk Road, influencing both countries’ historical backgrounds in this regards."

Noting the long-lasting relations of Beijing and Tehran, the president asserted “the establishment of diplomatic relationships resulted in outstanding outcomes in political, economic, cultural aspects as well.”

“In recent years, bilateral relations strengthen political trust, achieved commercial mutual cooperation, also both countries are supporting each other in regional and international affairs," reiterated Xi Jinping.

Considering JCPOA as mutual opportunity for new development, the official expressed readiness for further expansion of bilateral cooperation, aiming at opening a new chapter of long term, stable and comprehensive cooperation.

He added, "I expect to have interlocution with Iranian officials in regards to bilateral cooperation as well as shared and favorite regional and international issues in order to set the prospect of Beijing-Tehran relations; moreover I believe that the visit would be a successful one to strengthen further the friendship and bilateral cooperation of Iran and China."
