"We hope to gain the full benefit out of the current post-sanctions situation," said President Hassan Rouhani in the second round of pre-election congregation of governors and election officials, congratulating the victory in nuclear negotiations.
Government officials responsible for holding Parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections who met with Ayatollah Khamenei on Wednesday gathered in Iran’s Ministry of Interior Affairs on Thursday and the event was launched with by President Rouhani's address.
"The glorious days of securing the rights of the Iranian nation and victory in nuclear negotiations after 12 years of tides and ebbs and thirty months of breath-taking negotiations have to be greeted to the grand nation of Iranians," Rouhani opened the address referring to the implementation of the JCPOA.
He valued the result of the nuclear talks as a triumph of the developing world over the big powers and not a victory just for Iranians.
Touching upon the two elections scheduled to be held simultaneously on February 26, Rouhani stressed on his administration’s impartial, law-bound, and non-mediatory running of the elections in a genuine and healthy competitive environment.
"Parliament is the house of the whole nation," said Rouhani adding that "the bests deserve entrance to it, regardless of their affinity with any special party or person."
