Following the implementation of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the 5+1 group of countries dubbed ‘JCPOA’, President Hassan Rouhani issued a statement on Sunday in which he expressed his gratitude toward the Iranian nation for their patience and congratulated them for this “victory and glory”.
Noting that in the history of any nation, there are moments which best reflect the position and standing of that nation, President Rouhani said “one of those moments is today when the history-making will of the Iranian nation has borne fruit and the Islamic Republic’s voice of peace, dignity and sophistication has resonated throughout the world.”
“We have stretched our hands toward the world in a sign of friendship and begun a new chapter in our relations with the world after overcoming all the enmities, skepticism and schemes devised against us,” he added.
The President maintained that the official announcement of the implementation of the JCPOA has finally desecuritized Iran’s nuclear case, adding "the cruel resolutions against the Iranian nation” have been canceled, “Iran’s nuclear rights were established”, and the country’s economy has been put into the “world economy orbit.”
The President stressed however that the country’s strategy is still orientated around “Resistance Economy”.
“The implementation of the JCPOA will not harm any country. Iran’s friendly countries are happy and the rivals should not have any worries. We are not a threat to any government and nation; we, at the same time that seek to protect our national interests, are messengers of peace, stability and security for the region and the world,” said President Rouhani in the statement.
The President further extended his gratitude and appreciation for the Iranian nation, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, prominent religious figures, former administrations, the country’s diplomatic and legislative bodies, as well as the country’s martyrs, particularly the martyred nuclear scientists.
