TEHRAN, Jan. 15 (MNA) – Chinese President Xi Jinping heading a high-ranking delegation will pay a visit to Tehran on Jan. 22 to ink a number of MoUs.

The visit of President Xi Jinping which will come at the official invitation of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will take place next Friday, January 22. A high-ranking political and economic delegation will be accompanying the Chinese President on his two-day visit.

President Xi Jinping’s visit aims to further expand bilateral, regional and international relations between Tehran and Beijing, as well as to enhance the level of mutual cooperation in various fields including political, economic, commercial and cultural domains.

In addition to holding talks between the two countries’ presidents and accompanying delegations, a number of memoranda of understanding and agreements on economic, political, legal and cultural cooperation will be signed.

The Chinese president will be accompanied by three prime minister deputies, six ministers and a large delegation of Chinese businessmen and media reporters.

The trip is in response to the official visit of President Rouhani to China last year, and comes after 14 years of the last visit of former Chinese President Mr. Jiang Zemin to Iran.
