TEHRAN, Jan. 13 (MNA) – Public Relations Office of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps announced the custody of US military boats inside Iranian territorial waters while they were snooping around.

IRGC said on Wednesday that two US military boats carrying 10 armed gunmen were detained by Iran’s military Marine Corps, while they entered into Iranian territorial waters near the Farsi Island at 16:30, Tuesday.

Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps have ensured the detainees, including 9 men and one woman, have been well-treated, according to Islamic principles.

During a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday, US Secretary of State John Kerry ensured the US boats has accidentally entered Iran’s waters.

Mohammad Javad Zarif told Kerry that US navy sailors who ended up in Iranian custody would be allowed to continue their journey, Reuters quoted a US official on the condition of anonymity.

Yesterday, the US officials claimed some type of mechanical trouble with one of the boats caused them to drift into Iranian territorial waters near the Farsi Island, and they were picked up by IRGC Navy boats.

Pentagon Spokesman Peter Cook told The Associated Press that the Riverine boats were moving between Kuwait and Bahrain when the US lost contact with them. "We have been in contact with Iran and have received assurances that the crew and the vessels will be returned," Cook said.

IRGC has reportedly confiscated GPS system of the boat which proves the two boats had entered into the Iranian waters. The Iranian sources approve that the vessels had entered into teh Iranian territories due to a technical problem.
