The official, who was commenting on the unique and strategic situation of the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz in the region and the world, said that many foreign companies were willing to construct oil reservoirs in the terminal. He also added: “By the end of the Fourth Development Plan, Qeshm Oil Export Terminal will become one of the most important terminals in Iran and the Middle East region countries.”
“I firmly believe that as Assaluyeh’s oil and gas field is going to shape the future of Iran’s gas industry, Qeshm Oil Export Terminal will also be a milestone in development of the modern terminals in the region”, Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) quoted him on Sunday.
Elsewhere in his comments he referred to the condition of Neka Oil Terminal and placed the terminal’s current reserving capacity at 280.000 barrels per day (bpd). He asserted that this figure may decrease or increase due to the fluctuations observed in the market.
