TEHRAN, Dec. 21 (MNA) – Iran and Uzbekistan have signed an MoU providing the possibility of 16 flights per week between the two countries.

Following the visit of a top-ranked delegation from Uzbekistan, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization and respective Uzbekistani officials on increasing the number of flights between the two countries.

Earlier, there were only two direct flights between Tehran and Tashkent every week which will reach a total of 16 according to the new MoU.

Director of Public Relations Department of Civil Aviation Organization Reza Jafarzadeh said that the recent agreement also makes direct flights possible to Shiraz, Isfahan, Mashad, Samarkand and Bukhara in addition to Tehran and Tashkent.
