TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (MNA) – Managing director of IKIA Airport Town Company and NACO vice-president signed a contract to execute project of the Airport Town.

In order to implement the project of Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) Town by the Netherlands Airport Consultant Company (NACO) as the co-advisor of the project, an agreement was signed between Managing Director of Airport Town Company Mahmoud Navidi and Vice-President of the NACO Kiel Cloisterville.

According to the signed agreement, the Phase 1 on the airport town project will be constructed during five years by NACO.

Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) Town will occupy a total area of 14,000 hectares and the first phase of the project will consist of a passenger terminal dubbed Salam by a capacity of around five million passengers a year as well as the passenger terminal of Iranshahr by a capacity of 20 to 22 million passengers a year and portion of a free trade zone.

The capacity of the airport will reach 30 million passengers from 8 million in the next five years by fulfillment of the first phase of the IKIA Airport Town.

The IKIA is positioned 35 kilometers to the south of Tehran city.
