TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (MNA) – Iranian national futsal players achieved a victory over Mexico at China’s four-nation tournament to get even closer to the title.

Having overwhelmed Myanmar on Friday evening 15-2, Iran’s national futsal squad managed to win a victory over Mexico 5-1 on Saturday evening.

The Iranian outfit will meet China today on December 20 and will make a clean sweep even if the match ends in a draw.

Hosted by China and attended by Iran, Mexico and Myanmar, the four-nation futsal tournament opened in the city of Changshu on December 18 to last for three days.

The event is deemed as a warm-up for the 2016 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship that is to be held in Uzbekistan early next year.

The 2016 AFC Futsal Championship will be the 14th edition of the AFC Futsal Championship, and be staged in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, between February 10 and 21.
