TEHRAN, Dec. 16 (MNA) – In separate meetings with Finnish and Spanish counterparts, Iran’s Industry Minister Nematzadeh called for closer trade cooperation after the lift of sanctions in the next few days.

Iran's Industry, Mining and Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, on the sidelines of the WTO's 10th Ministerial Conference in Kenya, held talks with Spanish Minister for Commerce Jaime Garcia Legaz and Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Lenita Toivakka in separate meetings.

Nematzadeh evaluated the positive results of Iran nuclear deal for improving the level of cooperation with other countries as satisfactory and voiced Iran’s readiness to pursue once again its accession to the WTO given the current circumstances.

The Iranian minister maintained that the removal of sanctions against the Islamic Republic in the next few days will set the stage for closer cooperation with Spain and Finland.

The Finnish minister, for her part, stated that Finland is committed to supporting positive activities in the multilateral trading system and as such, welcomes Iran’s accession to WTO.

Garcia Legaz, the Spanish Minister for Commerce, expressed his country’s keenness in forming a joint committee with Iran to probe into potential capacities for trade and investment opportunities.

He also announced Spain’s readiness to cooperate with Iran in auto industry.

The WTO's 10th Ministerial Conference is being held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 15 to 18 December 2015. It is chaired by Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Amina Mohamed.
