TEHRAN, Dec. 01 (MNA) – An Iranian film festival opened at Dom Kino (Cinema House) in Moscow which screens Iranian films.

The festival was held for highlighting the connections between cinema and family.

The three-day event which opened on Friday, screened a number of Iranian films namely Track 143 by Narges Abyar, A Cradle for Mother by Panahbarkhoda Rezai as well as Painting Pool by Maziar Miri. The works were dubbed into Russian.

During the festival’s opening ceremony, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Mahdi Sanaei talked about the expansion of bilateral ties and said that boosting cultural relations of Iran and Russia are as important as economic and political ties. “Iran’s cinema, as a spiritual one, can convey the concept of family and spiritual values to the Russians,” he added.

Moreover, Sanaei said that unlike other countries, Iranian films on 8-year war present the period’s values. Track 143 is indeed one of the flicks which was also considered by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Moreover deputy of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia said that Iranian films, with spiritual and artistic attractions, are well received in Russia.

Track 143 won the jury special prize at the Volokolamsky Film Festival, held in Russia from November 14 to 18 and its organizers handed the prize to the Iranian cultural attaché to deliver it to Abyar.
