TEHRAN, Nov. 29 (MNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution has praised the Army Navy for the force’s role on attaining ‘great advancements in maritime industry.’

Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei received a group of Army Navy commanders and officials in the occasion of the National Day of Navy on Sunday, where he praised the Navy for its achievements; “committed human resources, organizational briskness, and accurate management along with iron will, reliance on God, and a good hope in the future are the components of a lofty objective which is to catapult Islamic Republic to heights of achievement, well in line with its historical prestige and a glory,” Ayatollah Khamenei told the meeting. “The advances in the Navy could not have been as outstanding as it is now; before the Revolution, the sea had been downplayed in its prestige, grandeur, and strategic role in international politics; now however, the Navy have walked a long road, yet many miles should be covered to reach the optimal place.”

“The sea has been historically a front where countries faced their foes with strength and preparation; it nevertheless provided a ground as well for friendly cooperation and effective relations of countries; access to open seas which provides a boon from a defensive point of view is an advantage which should be taken serious by the officials,” emphasized the Leader. “The Navy has a great mission: to protect and foster Iran’s historic place in the region in the sea; we are still in the embryonic stage of a long process, and you [the Navy staff] should guide the country in its path to a hopeful future.”

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the strategic importance of Makran coasts and Sea of Oman; “this region is an epicenter of the Navy’s mission, and I will provide the government with necessary recommendations on the necessity of reviving the region’s status,” he said.

“The objectives set for the Navy entails a strong infrastructures in terms of human resources and training of brusque organizational setting with committed personnel with integrity to organizational values of the Army; the valuable experiences of the past when the financial difficulties were lived by the Army, indicate that with bare hands, a management aiming at excellence could solve problems in the face of paucity of resources,” he told the meeting.

“Today, our nation’s capabilities and achievements especially in the Army have soared high and with a strong will and a trust in heavenly providence, a better future will be in the horizons,” the Leader promised.
