According to the Swedish diplomat, the world community must play a major role in overcoming the current stage, to ensure a two-state solution, which means the realization of Palestinian aspirations for independence and security of Israelis.
Eliasson warned that humanity continues to witness the construction of illegal settlements in the occupied territories and demolitions of Palestinian homes, including those run by Tel Aviv for punishment, which are "policies and actions contrary to the commitment expressed by the Israel with a two-state solution".
Besides, tensions and violence in holy sites of the Old City of Jerusalem in recent weeks introduced a dangerous religious dimension of the conflict, he said.
The obstacles in access to those sites, such as the Al Aqsa Mosque, and provocations by Jewish extremists have soared clashes, repression and attacks against civilians, with dozens dead and thousands injured, the vast majority of them Palestinians.

"What they feel is a lack of hope that their lives will change for fine or one day live in their own state under freedoms and welfare, "he said.
For the Assistant Secretary-General urges the leaders of the two sides focus on creating a favorable environment to stop the conflict and reject I hate speech and other actions that only tense the situation.
