TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (MNA) – Visiting Serbian MP called for expansion of ties in her meeting with Iran’s minister of trade, on Monday in Tehran.

It is necessary to uplift trade and economy relations of Tehran and Belgrade along with developing political ties, said Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh on Monday while receiving visiting President of the National Assembly of Serbia Maja Gojkovic in Tehran.

The Iranian official highlighted the many grounds of bilateral cooperation and voiced hope that the joint commission of Iran and Serbia would reach good results at the coming sitting in December.

With many agreements clinched, now the focus has to be on putting them in practice, underlined Nematzadeh pointing to areas of tourism, joint industrial and mining investments, agricultural interactions, cultural and scientific studies, student and instructor exchange, and infrastructural projects in a third country.

During the meeting, Gojkovic, for her part, voiced satisfaction with the development of Tehran-Belgrade economic and political ties and asserted that efforts will be undertaken to broaden trade and tourism ties along with improvement of parliamentarian cooperation.

Now the ties are lower than the desired level and the next meeting of the joint commission will hopefully lead to fruitful results, noted the Serbian official with emphasis on investment in a third country.
