It is hoped that the countries of the Middle East cooperate to reach a stable solution in Yemen, said Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs, in his Wednesday meeting with Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, UN special envoy to Yemen.
The officials met on the threshold of the second round of Yemeni-Yemeni talks in Geneva and exchanged views on the latest developments in Yemen and the outcome of the UN envoy's consultations with representatives of the political parties and warring sides.
The Iranian diplomat also thanked the envy for his concerted and continued efforts to run the new round of negotiations and restore peace and stability in Yemen.
Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed for his part emphasized that all sides of the conflicts in Yemen have reached the agreement that there is no military solution for the crisis and the humanitarian condition in the country has reached a critical point.
Iran has a key role in the region and has played constructively dealing with the crisis in Yemen, highlighted the UN special envoy to Yemen extending his gratitude for contributions made by Iran.
The UN envoy arrived in Tehran on Wednesday to coordinate the latest measures prior to the second round of inter-Yemeni negotiations to be held in Geneva.
