‘Finally, it will be the quadrilateral coalition of Iran, Syria, Russia, and Iraq who defeat terrorism in the region while the US-led coalition did nothing of help in Syria and Iraq,’ said Ali Shamkhani, Iran’s Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), in his interview with the Lebanon's Al Ahd news website.
He stressed that ‘the countries aligned with the US in the so-called coalition against terrorism do not have a good resume in war against terror as they have always taken instrumental advantage of terrorists to secure their regional interests.’
The countries in quadrilateral coalition share strong determination in fighting terrorism and their cooperation is not a hollow show, affirmed the Iranian official.
Iran’s chief of security called for international support for the quadrilateral coalition and reassured that ‘the strong will of this coalition will guarantee its success.’
On the formation of terrorist groups, Shamkhani noted that ‘terrorists are comprised of human resources plus finance and equipment and if the countries of the US-led coalition are serious in their war against terrorism, they have to first cut the hands that arm and support the terrorists.’
