Every year we report a new record in greenhouse gas concentration, with a greatest risk for future generations, said WMO Secretary-General Michel Jarraud.
According to Jarraud, it is imperative that the international community implements measures to avoid the negative impact of greenhouse gases, responsible for increasing Earth's temperature.
WMO underlines in its report that between 1990 and 2014 there was a 36 percent the warming effect of our climate because of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxin, methane and nitrous oxide from industrial, agricultural and domestic activities.
We will soon be living with globally averaged CO2 levels above 400 parts per million, an invisible threat, but a real one, said Jarraud.
The expert also remarked that this greenhouse gas would remain in the atmosphere for hundreds of years and in the ocean for even longer.
