TEHRAN, Nov. 05 (MNA) – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) on Thursday welcoming the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and stressing the need of its implementation.

The Japanese FM held the meeting with Ali Akbar Salehi in Tokyo during which the Iranian official appreciated the supports of Japan during the nuclear negotiations.

He added that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will present its evaluation on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program by December 15 and we anticipate that JCPOA will be implemented late December.

Talking about establishing a nuclear safety center, according to JCPOA, Salehi welcomed the assistance of Japan.

He also extended an invitation by the Iranian president to Abe to visit Tehran.

For his part, Shinzo Abe pointed out to the chaotic security situation in the Middle East, ISIL and urged cooperation between Tokyo and Tehran to counter terrorist groups.  

The Japanese official also invited Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Japan and stressed expansion of trade ties between the two countries particularly following the implementation of JCPOA.

Salehi arrived in Tokyo on Sunday on a four-day visit and held talks with Japanese officials about the expansion of nuclear cooperation between Iran and Japan.
