“Based on the timetable that we have, we imagine that in almost two months we will reach the phase where the JCPOA will be fully implemented and the other side will terminate sanctions in line with complying with their commitments,” Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday.
Araghchi added that the most important priority of Iran’s foreign policy is to see to the completion of JCPOA implementation process, and then to have an active participation in helping to settle regional conflicts; “our region, as Leader Ayat. Khamenei has said, is gripped with a great number of challenges, and as such the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy naturally aims at resolving regional issues with a strategic approach,” he said.
On Saturday, Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif said the negotiations with the 5+1 group of countries on the sidelines of Syria peace talks in Vienna had a good and constructive progress, adding that good progress had also been made during the extensive discussions held on the reconstruction of Arak heavy water reactor.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi is currently in Tokyo on a four-day visit to hold talks with Japanese senior officials on expanding nuclear safety cooperation.
