The losses in oil industry and mineral wealth in Syria exceed 50 billion dollars since the crisis started in 2011, assured the Syrian Minister of the sector, Suleiman Abbas.
According to the Syrian official, losses in the area of oil and gas were doubled in one year, which in 2014 registered 21.4 million dollars.
The increase over the last year are associated with the attacks by the military aviation of the international coalition led by the United States, that aim their bombing attacks against the oil and gas wells.
According to experts, despite the affirmations by the Pentagon that their attacks target objectives of the terrorist group ISIL, the truth is they fall on hydrocarbon-producing zones, what they accomplish is to destroy Syrian oil infrastructure.
Abbas explained that before starting the armed conflict a little over four years ago, Syria produced about 385 thousand barrels of oil per day, but by last September, extraction was reduced to nine thousand 688 barrels per day.
The capacity was also limited in gas production, of some 30 million cubic meters in March, 2011, to 14.8 million cubic meters in last month.
