DAMASCUS, Oct. 27 (MNA) – Syria's high military command informed on Monday that the armed forces, backed by combat aviation, continue their anti-terrorist operations, mainly in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Latakia.

According to the Army source, in the past few days the uniformed managed to free some 50 towns and villages in northern Aleppo province, and continues searching for terrorists crouched in the area.

It also confirmed that the regions of Wadihi and Hadadin were declared "safe areas" and the displaced civilian population was urged to return to their places of residence.

It also reported that three car bombs were destroyed and thwarted several infiltration attempts by members of the terrorist group ISIL in the area of al-Jafra, in Dier ez-Zor province, located 461 km east of this capital.

The source confirmed that the town of Dahret Kasara was freed, in Quineitra province, 67 km southwest of Damascus, while in Daraa the terrorist gangs were prevented from occupying a power plant.

In the coastal province of Latakia, 348 km northwest of this capital, operations continued in the areas of Jub al-Ahmar and Salma, and control was taken over a series of strategic areas and hills.

The source also explained that operations continue in Harasta, Nouleh and Eastern Ghouta, in Damascus Countryside, with many human and material losses among the terrorists.
