Fathollah Moztarzadeh, President of Iranian Organizations for Science and Technology (IROST) told Mehr News that parts of the buildings and laboratories required for the activities of the international research center for new medical technologies have already been constructed in the IROST, ready to start the first phase of its activities in the next three months.
He added that the center will be completed within three years, and an eleven-person panel of experts comprising of Iranian and German professors will develop the center’s scientific and research policies.
“In the center, various fields of medical sciences and biomedical engineering will be formed by prominent related professors and we expect a total of some thousand Iranian and foreign researchers to take part in these fields,” said Moztarzadeh.
Iran signed the agreement to establish an international research center for new medical technologies in Tehran with the International Neuroscience Institute of Hanover, Germany in January 2015. The agreement was signed by Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi and Prof. Majid Samii, the head of the institute and an outstanding international figure in the field of neurosurgery.
