Hassan Qashqavi who was speaking to press on the sidelines of Parliament Tuesday open session, said that a positive mentality in the Parliament is dominant about the JCPOA bill passed today, and that “I speculate that the Guardian Council will approve the bill as well.”
“The approval would give an open hand to government in implementation of the JCPOA in his belated attempts to tackle economic issues; it also will provide a ground for the JCPOA to be implemented, which will hit suspension or removal of sanctions as the early positive impacts; later on, Iran’s and Powers’ mutual commitments will follow the suit in extending hopeful atmosphere to Iran’s hard-pressed national economy,” Qashqavi told the reporters.
“Mr. Zarif fully attended the open session of the Parliament in examining the bill out of his respect to the Parliament place; both Sunday and Tuesday’s sessions were fruitful, with both proponents and opponents of the bill exchanging opinions in a more or less stable conditions, which is highly critical for a Parliament to function with health, and the world would see clearly that Iranian Parliament is a venue for peacefully deciding on different issues,” he lavished praise on the open session of the Parliament.
Qashqavi dubbed passing of the JCPOA bill as a clear example of constructive cooperation of government and Parliament; “a 64-per cent ‘Yes’ vote for the bill by representatives demonstrates an atmosphere of cooperation rather than conflict, and we hope to see that such sessions would only focus on issues relevant to national interest and the expediencies of the system,” he told reporters. “Government has heavy responsibilities in implementing the JCPOA; what happened in the Parliament provided the government with a firm base and legal permit for a go-ahead in JCPOA,” Qashqavi said.
He called all the media, parties, and Parliament factions to help government post-JCPOA with maximum realization of national interests; however, deputy-FM warned that JCPOA should not be expected to do magic; “along with JCPOA, issues such as economic system and bureaucracy are highly influential in facilitating investment and implementation of Resistance Economic policies; with this in mind, I believe that JCPOA should not be mired on the maze of political and electoral activities,” Qashqavi told reporters.
