NEW YORK, Oct. 09 (MNA) – Iran’s UN Deputy Envoy Dehghani represented NAM at UN’s 4th Committee on Thursday and urged colonizers to compensate for damages.

Iran Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Gholamhossein Dehghani represented Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) at the United Nations Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly (also known as the Special Political and Decolonization Committee) on Thursday.

The Iranian diplomat focused on eradication of the ominous phenomenon of colonization and imperialism which he held the UN has failed to encounter.

Referring to the final statement of 16th conference of NAM in Tehran in 1991, he highlighted the indispensable right of the people of nations all over the world to have their own sovereignty.

Dehghani urged the UN to fulfill its objectives in dealing with colonization and imperialism, and called for speeding up the required measures.

Furthermore, he insisted that the colonizers are responsible to make up for all social, cultural, and economic damages they have inflicted upon colonized countries.

NAM’s representative reaffirmed the movement’s all-out support for Palestinians and called it the right of them to have an independent government homed at al-Quds.
