BERLIN, Oct. 06 (MNA) – Iranian ambassador to Berlin Ali Majedi said on Mon. German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier is slated for a two-day visit to Iran on October 17-18.

Majedi further deemed the prospect of Iran-Germany relations in regard to common points of interests highly positive, adding “Iran and Germany have embarked on a very constructive cooperative process to improve the stability and security in the world, the Middle East in particular.” 

Majedi who made the remarks while attending the Iran-Germany Business Meeting in Berlin on Monday, referred to the serious and friendly relations between Tehran and Berlin on issues related to Syria, Yemen and Iraq, calling for closer cooperation between the two countries in the fight against the ISIL terrorist group in the Middle East.

He also urged better trade ties between Iran and Germany, saying Berlin has always been one of the two main economic partners of Tehran; “Iran wants to return the level of trade transactions at 6 billion euros as was the case in 2005 before the anti-Iranian sanctions,” he said.

Majedi further added that Iran-Germany Joint Economic Commission will be formed in Tehran by May or June of 2016.
