Vice-President for Legal Affairs Elham Aminzadeh made the announcement in a press conference on Saturday, adding “the Legal Vice Presidency office through collaboration with Iranian Bar Association and the Middle East Bar Association has made a proposal for forming a legal network for women in the Middle East which was warmly received.”
She added that the proposal was presented and highly welcomed during the 2nd International Conference on Role of Women in Sustainable Development that took place from 15 to 18 September 2015 at Tehran International Fairground.
“Of course, we are now just taking the first steps. We need to hold sessions and form an international organization so that we will have something to say in regard to obtaining the Middle East women’s legal demands,” she said.
The Iranian official further added that Tehran will be hosting the next meeting of the Middle East Women’s Legal Network.
