TEHRAN, Sep. 13 (MNA) – Head of Tehran Beautification Organization said 14 foreign artists and 9 Iranian sculptors will participate in the 7th edition of International Tehran Sculpture Symposium.

Isa Alizadeh, Head of the Organization of Tehran Beautification said in this year’s edition of Tehran Sculpture Symposium which will kick off on 23 September, 23 Iranian and international sculptors will gather together to compete in the main and side segments of the event.

“The select council of the symposium has selected 14 foreign artists from Russia, Belarus, Albania, Portugal, Italy, Serbia, Taiwan, Korea, Germany, Peru, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania to participate in the event,” said Alizadeh.

He added that 9 Iranian sculptors will also take part in the stone and metal sculpture symposium.

Like its six previous courses, the 7th competitive sculpture symposium of Tehran is organized by Tehran’s Beautification Organization with the aim of developing Iran’s contemporary sculpture art, promoting the aesthetic view in the society, sharing experiences, information and skills on urban sculpturing among artists and informing citizens about different stages of artistic works development.   

The symposium is held in two sections of main competition and student segment that will be judged by a jury panel comprised of two Iranian juries and a foreign one.

The symposium will be held from 23 September to 16 October, 2015 in the Iranian capital city of Tehran’s Milad Tower.
