TEHRAN, Sep. 11 (MNA) – The 29th season of Iran’s Hazfi Cup got into 16th-finals with two matches on Wednesday.

The Hazfi Cup is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation.

The first round of the 2015–16 Hazfi Cup kicked off on August 27 with competitions among seeders from Azadegan League, 2nd Division League, and Champions of Provinces.

After the fights in the first round 16 clubs got to the second round (16th-finals) to line up against Iran’s Premier League clubs.

The Second Round started on September 8, with two matches in which Padideh of Mashhad defeated Shahrdari of Kashan (Kashan’s municipality) 4-1 in Samen Stadium of Mashhad and Malavan of Anzali trounced Oghab of Tehran 3-1 in Takhti Stadium of Mashhad.

On Thursday, Gostaresh Foulad of Tabriz lined up against Omid Razakan of alborz in Gostaresh Foulad Stadium of Tabriz and Saba of Qom played with Nirouye Zamini in Yadegar-e Emam Stadium of Qom.

Both Premier-division clubs Gostaresh Foulad of Tabriz and Saba of Qom defeated their lower division’s rivals; Gostaresh passed Omid Razakan 2-0 and Saba edge passed Nirouye Zamini 2-1.
