TEHRAN, Sep. 08 (MNA) –Visiting Spanish Foreign Minister says Iran has proved that its nuclear activities are peaceful and we are in Iran to expand bilateral ties.

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Garcia-Margallo made the remarks on Tuesday in Isfahan’s airport where he was welcomed by the governor.  

The Spanish official said that Iran’s nuclear activities are peaceful and far from military purposes. He added “I am in Iran to boost bilateral ties; Spain is powerful in infrastructure equipments and can help Iran in this specific section.”

Spain would also like to expand bilateral ties in the fields of industries and mines, he noted.

For his part, Isfahan’s governor said “During the past week, Isfahan has hosted five top political and economic delegations. Political decisions and international ties are adopted in Tehran however the province of Isfahan holds great capacities for hosting foreign high ranking officials.”

The Spanish delegation has plans to visit Isfahan’s historical sites. Jose Garcia-Margallo met his Iranian counterpart and President Rouhani on Monday.

 A top-ranked Spanish trade-economic delegation consisting of representatives and managers of 70 Spanish companies as well as ministers of foreign affairs, energy and industry, and tourism arrived in Tehran on Monday.
