TEHRAN, Sep. 08 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said Iran is ready for expansion of level of negotiations and cooperation with Spain.

Ali Larijani made the remarks in a joint meeting with visiting Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, Public Works Minister Ana Pastor and Industry, Energy and Tourism Minister Jose Manuel Soria in Tehran on Monday.

Stressing that Iranians do not regard Spain negatively, Larijani said, "This positive background can be empolyed to activate all cooperation areas of mutual interest in an appropriate manner."

Underlining that both countries enjoy vast capacities in the field of trade and economic cooperation, he referred to the views of lawmakers as manifestation of peoples' votes which can facilitate multual understanding and promote relations between Iran and Spain.

Spanish FM ensured that his country has always welcomed cooperation with Iran and that in the wake of the nuclear agreement, the ground is ripe for advancement of ties.

Hailing the nuclear agreement between Iran and 5+1 reached in July in Vienna , Garcia-Margallo said it has resulted in more significant role of Iran in establishment of stability, peace and tranquility in the region.

While sanctons are lifted, he said, Spain wants to be among the first European countries to fulfill efforts in cooprating with Iran.

Pointing to the crisis of terrorism in Syria, Spain's FM acknowledged seeking a diplomatic solution for the Syrian issue, saying that Spanish government believes the conflicts in the region should be terminated through democratic procedures.

Spanish Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism Jose Manuel Soria met Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian and expressed Madrid's readiness for production and distribution of electricity in Iran.

Also Spanish Public Works Minister Ana Pastor and Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi discussed bilateral relations to increase the ties in transportation, housing and urban development.
