In a meeting with Ghanaian Foreign Minister Hannah Tetteh which took place here on Tuesday afternoon, Ali Larijani said that the Parliament is ready to facilitate and accelerate cooperation between state and private sectors.
Pointing to the growing trend of government and parliamentarian cooperation between Iran and Ghana in recent years, Larijani said exchange of high-level delegations between the two countries has provided necessary conditions for the further development of relations between the two countries which should be used to benefit the two nations.
He called trade and economic cooperation as the most important grounds for mutual cooperation between Iran and Ghana.
Referring to the signed MoUs between the two countries, Larijani said that good agreements have been signed and there is hope that in a new atmosphere and through constructive dialogue between Iran and Ghana, effective steps can be taken to implement the MoUs.
Tetteh, for his part, expressed Ghana's readiness to expand bilateral ties, and said the government and parliament of Ghana welcome expansion of ties with Iran.
She said that Ghana has plenty of abilities in exporting gold, coffee, agricultural products and construction materials, which by further exchanges between private sectors of the two countries and implementation of the signed Memorandum of Understandings they could be used in direction of promotion of trade and economic relations.
Tetteh also announced the visit of Ghanaian president to Iran in the coming months, which could expand friendly relations between the two countries.
