TEHRAN, Aug. 26 (MNA) – Abbas Rafei's production received the special award at the 16th Crimea International Film Festival.

Produce by Amir Hossain Sharifi, Songs of My Land won the special prize in the competition section of the 16th Crimea International Film Festival.

The award was given to Sharifi by Rustam Mammad Ibrahim oglu a prominent Russian screenwriter who has also been a member of the jury at the International Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

After appearing on the stage, the producer of the film granted his award to the families of innocent martyrs from all around the world who were killed by terrorists.

The special prize in this festival is awarded to the best film about strength and honesty among religions dealing with the world's most important problem.

The film is about a romance between a Muslim man and a Christian woman, which develops after an attack by ISIL terrorist group on their village in Syria.

The cast include known actors from Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt. Shot in Arabic, the film will be dubbed to Persian for public screening in Iran.

It was also screened in April at Dom Kino Cinema House, which is the Russian Filmmakers’ Union in Moscow, and was warmly received by the audience.

The 16th Crimea International Film Festival had begun on August 22 in Yalta Island and culminated on Tuesday.
