The senior Iranian negotiator in Vienna talks and Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi attended Allameh Tabatabaie University and answered the questions on the July 14 deal between Iran and the Sextet.
The Iranian senior diplomat rejected the claims made by the Americans that Iran had agreed to destroy the core of the Arak heavy water reactor and fill it with concrete and called it a propaganda which has been psychologically successful.
"What we agreed on over the issue of Arak heavy water reactor was a big victory for us and a heavy loss for the Americans because they did not even wanted us to talk about it early in negotiations," said Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
Further he added that even in interim deal in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013, the name of the reactor was not mentioned but in the finalized agreement of July 14 dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in the Austrian capital of Vienna, it has been explicitly authorized.
Finally, Araghchi paid tribute to the advice offered by Iran’s Leader, the guidance provided by Iran’s president, and the patience undertaken by Iranian people as elements of success in the talks.
