"A French delegation from Aéroports de Paris or ADP (Paris Airports) visited Tehran last week to negotiate over investing opportunities in Iranian airports,” said Mohammad Khodakarami, the Acting Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO).
According to Khodakarami the delegation was headed by Augustin de Romanet de Beaune who is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Aéroports de Paris.
The projects being negotiated with the French, as CAO’s official said, were the expansion plans of Iranshahr Terminal of Imam Khomeini International Airport and two busy airports of Mashhad and Shiraz cities.
The official added that after some meetings between Iranian authorities and the French delegation, ADP, who is currently involved in some major plans in Iran, agreed to partner in developing Iranshahr Terminal of Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Along with investing in aforementioned projects, the French are also offering consulting services and opening new air routes, Khodakarami added.
After the nuclear agreement of July 14 between Iran and 5+1, Khodakarami was quoted as saying that weekly flights to France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Turkey, and Denmark would be increased.
With 9,500 employees, ADP owns and manages the fourteen civil airports and airfields in the Île-de-France area of Paris. The ADP group touts itself as being the world's second largest airport group in terms of turnover and the first in terms of air mail and freight handling. With its subsidiaries, ADP Management, ADP Ingénierie, Alyzia and Hub Télécom, the ADP group has assisted in the construction and maintainance of airports and related buildings and infrastructure in over 55 countries.
