HIROSHIMA, Aug. 02 (MNA) – Iranian athlete has managed to snatch Iran’s first medal in Pommel Horse competitions of the 6th senior ART Gymnastics Asian Championship held in Japan.

Iranian athlete Abdollah Jamei who was enjoying his first participation in the Asian championships managed to clench the country’s first medal by ranking third in the Pommel Horse final competitions in the international event.

Jamei had managed to come seventh among 29 other participants and qualified for the final round. After competing against athletes from various countries including Japan, China, and Korea, the Iranian athlete scored 14.675 points and won the bronze medal in the Senior ART Gymnastics Asian Championships.

Other Iranian athletes Hadi Khannarinejad with 14.925 points in Rings and Saeidreza Keykha with 14.575 points in Pommel Horse stood at the fourth place.

The 6th Senior ART Gymnastics Asian Championships opened on July 31, 2015 in Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center in Japan and wrapped up on August 2.
