Iran and five permanent members of UN Security Council plus Germany seek to hammer out a nuclear agreement in Vienna by continuing their negotiations through late Monday. They are scheduled now to hold their last meeting at 13:00 Tehran time.
After the meeting, Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will read a joint statement at the UN headquarters in the presence of foreign ministers of 5+1.
The head of the Iranian delegation, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said Monday morning that there were still obstacles in the talks. He emphasized that the talks have reached a decisive point, though unresolved issues still remain.
"Some issues still remain unresolved and until they are solved, we cannot say an agreement has been reached," he said, adding that he is hopeful but that there is no guarantee that the sides will manage to announce a deal on Monday.
