Iranian feature film The Sea and the Flying Fish directed by Mehrdad Ghaffarzadeh will be screened at Sharjah International Children's Film Festival.
The festival will be held in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, from October 18-23.
Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival is the first children film festival in the United Arab Emirates dedicated to enhance the media literacy of children and young people, foster children's creativity and showcase the very best in filmmaking for, by and about children and young people.
Ghaffarzadeh's feature film will be also screened at the 20th Busan International Film Festival from October 1-10 in South Korea.
The Sea and the Flying Fish received an Honorary Diploma as the Critics Award for Best Film at Moscow International Film Festival held from June 19 to 26.
The social drama is about a teenage boy named Ehsan who is a young, innocent deaf and dumb inmate of a correctional camp who communicates through painting. During his imprisonment, he learns that his father has sold his sister to pay off his debts. This prompts Ehsan to break out of prison to save his sister.
