TEHRAN, Jul. 05 (MNA) – Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mehdi Karbasian said Iran is now ready to start producing steel in the country.

During the last Iranian year (ended on March 20, 2015), Iran experienced an export volume of over two million tons of steel byproducts, which marks the first time the country had such a figure, Karbasian said.

He announced that Iran has planned to double the figure during the current year, thanks to the desirable situation of the Iranian steel industries.

The deputy minister also stressed the need for granting special financial facilities to the steel sector and said the active participants in the industries should be awarded.
