TEHRAN, Jul. 04 (MNA) – Iran’s university students’ national volleyball squad snatched their second victory in 2015 Universiade competitions on Sat. against the Swiss team.

Iranian university students’ national volleyball team played against Switzerland on Saturday in the South Korean city of Sancheong and gained their second victory in the summer competitions 3-1.

In the first set, Iranian volleyballers managed to beat their Swiss opponents 25-13. The Swiss squad took the lead in set two and beat Iran 25-23. In the third set, Peyman Akbari’s men demonstrated a much more powerful performance and won the set 25-22.

Iran’s brilliant performance continued in the fourth set and brought up their victory with the result of 25-22.

South Korea is currently hosting the competitions, also known as the 2015 Summer Universiade, with participation of a large number of athletes from about 150 countries from July 4-14, 2015.

Iran's Volleyball team has been grouped with Russia, Canada, Thailand and Switzerland.

Iran has won against Canada in its previous match. It will take on Thailand on Monday in the third leg of its group B competitions.
