TEHRAN, Jul. 04 (MNA) – Iran’s Volleyball Federation handed the name of its 20 volleyballers for the 18th Asian Men's Volleyball Championship.

Iran’s Volleyball Federation announced the list of its ballers in the 2015 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship.

The 18th edition of Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship will be held by the participation of 17 teams in Tehran, Iran.

The event will be held from 31 July to 8 August 2015 in Azadi and Takhti Sport Complexes.

As the tournament does not qualify for Olympic, the Iranian officials have decided to  line up Iran’s B national volleyball team for the event who have recently won the title of 2015 Asian Men's U23 Volleyball Championship held in Naypyidaw, Myanmar in May 2015.

Twenty names are handed to Asian Volleyball Confederation who are going to be coached by Peyman Akbari and supervised by Mehdi Nafar. The names are as follows:

Mohammad Tahervandi, Farhad Salafzoun, Behzad Heidari, Farhad Peyroutpour, Mohammadjavad Manavinejad, Mikael Tajer, Mohammadreza Moazzen, Rasoul Shahsavari, Pouria Fayyazi, Rahman Davoudi, Alireza Mobasheri, Hamzeh Zarrini, Saeed Sheeroud, Saeed Javaheritavana, Ali Shafiee, Mostafa Shareefat, Reza Abedini, Mohammad Fallah, Ali Fathali, and Mohammad Razipour.

Teams were seeded in the first two positions of each pool following the Serpentine system according to their FIVB World Ranking as of 22 September 2014. AVC reserved the right to seed the hosts as head of Pool A regardless of the World Ranking. All teams not seeded were drawn in Tehran, Iran on 22 April 2015. The pools are as follows:

Pool A: Iran, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Oman, Chinese Taipei

Pool B: Australia, India, Turkmenistan, Qatar

Pool C: South Korea, Thailand, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia

Pool D: China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Bahrain

Iran national volleyball team is the champion of two last editions (2011 and 2013) and should try hard to save its place.
