In an interview with CNN TV Channel in Tehran, Alaeddin Boroujerdi said reaching a nuclear agreement is dependent on the removal of all imposed sanctions.
"This [sanction removal] is essential, and that US must prove it is seeking to break the wall of mistrust between the two sides," Boroujerdi said, acknowledging that the process of lifting sanctions would take time.
Iranian official emphasized that inspections of military facilities are among the redlines set by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Boroujerdi went on to say that both sides should show strong will to reach an agreement. "Considering the fact that Iran has made its own contribution to negotiations' progress by accepting restrictions on its peaceful nuclear program based on Lausanne Understanding, now it is time for the other side to show will in this regard," Boroujerdi said.
In response to the question whether the agreement could lead to improvement of ties with the US, and the possibility of their cooperation in the fields including counter-terrorism, Boroujerdi said, "Although the talks is only on the nuclear issue, Iran looks at it as a benchmark test to verify the US."
