In a meeting with South Korea's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yong, Morteza Sarmadi underlined the need for cooperation and consultation on international and regional issues, including cooperation to counter the spread of extremism and terrorism.
"Despite fluctuations, there has been no dark side in Tehran-Seoul bilateral diplomatic relations since its inception 53 years ago," Sarmadi said, pointing to positive outcomes of South Korea and Iran's ties.
Cho, for his part, referred to the expansion of terrorism, saying that even countries far from center of extremism in Middle East, are not safe from its consequent harms.
The South Korean official hoped success for the ongoing negotiations between Iran and five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany and said that Seoul has placed the all-out expansion of ties with Iran on top of its agenda.
