TEHRAN, April. 6 (MNA) -- After his recent concert tour with great masters of Iranian music in the U.S., Keyhan Kalhor a virtuoso on kamancheh (spike fiddle) will return to the country to perform new pieces rooted in the improvisation of Persian classical music and mystical Sufi poetry in Chicago on April 9 and in Los Angeles on April 13-14.

He is slated to hold workshops for a week at the Brown University in Rhode Island.

 

“The workshops held by my friends and I in the universities in the world have helped the students to know Iranian music better,” Kalhor said.

 

He along with Mohammadreza Shajarian and Alizadeh held a concert tour in the U.S. cities of New York, Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, and Chicago.
