TEHRAN, Jun. 24 (MNA) – A new vein finder device was developed by the students of Iran University of Science and Technology.

In a research project conducted in Iran University of Science and Technology, the university students made a vein finder for children using the technology of active infrared night vision.

Headed by Professor Mohammad Riahi and assisted by Professor Ali Abdolali, Pantea Mafi and her colleagues carried out the tests in one of the laboratories of Mechanical Engineering Department of the university.

The device combines infrared illumination of spectral range and using the reflection radiated by the surrounding tissue spots the line of vein. The captured information is processed in real time and directly projected digitally onto the surface of the skin.

Professor Riahi expressed hope after the commercialization of the project, 25000 of the device would be manufactured annually for domestic use of clinical centers.
