TEHRAN, May 26 (MNA) – Greece will hold an appreciation ceremony for Iranian cinema by screening four Iranian films at Naxos Film Festival.

Naxos Film Festival in collaboration with Iran’s Cultural Center will be holding an appreciation ceremony for Iranian cinema on 18-19 June, 2015 on Naxos Island, Greece.

The films The Painting Pool by Maziar Miri, All Alone by Ehsan Abdipour, A Cube of Sugar by Reza Mirkarimi, and Let's Call It a Day! by Afshin Hashemi will be screened at the event.

A number of officials of Iran’s Embassy in Greece and cultural figures and Greek filmmakers are due to attend the festival.

Publicly screened in 2013, The Painting Pool received UNESCO Award at the seventh annual Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA). It narrates the story of a couple, Maryam and Reza, who are different from normal people around and face a big challenge in proving others that they have resolved the difference by the miracle of love.

All Alone is the first experience of director Ehsan Abdipour and won 11 awards at the 31st International Fajr Film Festival. It embarks on the efforts of Iranian researchers for access to peaceful nuclear energy, and at the same time illustrates the hostility of the Zionists towards them.

A Cube of Sugar recounts the story of a family who lives in an old Iranian city and their attempts in dealing with different problems and incidents. The film was selected for the 2013 Oscar's foreign-language film submission by Iranian cinema selection committee.
